By now you’ve probably inundated yourself with all the awesomeness of the Jeep Renegade, but in case you missed out, here is a quick update on the newest edition to Jeep’s family.

The MPG and the Price

In our post a few months back, we claimed the Jeep renegade would achieve 30+ mpg while maintaining its bite-size ferocity. Well, the results are in, and the EPA has rated the Jeep Renegade’s 180hp 2.4L Tigershark engine at 31mpg highway. The EPA has yet to rate the 160hp, 1.4L Turbo Multiair engine, which comes standard on the Sport and Latitude models, but we assume this engine will be more efficient than it’s 180hp counterpart, which is good news for consumers.

So what’s it going to cost to bring out your inner renegade?

Well, it depends on what you’re looking to use it for. The Jeep Renegade comes as either a Sport, Latitude, Limited, or Trailhawk edition, starting at $17,995 MSRP for the 4×2 Renegade Sport. Upgrading to the 4×4 for any model will add $2,000 to the cost, apart from the 4×4 standard Trailhawk. There are many differences between the four editions though, so here is an overview to get you started.

The Renegade Sport

A Standard Renegade Sport arrives with the 1.4L Turbo engine and 6 speed manual transmission. It also features a fold-forward front passenger seat, a height-adjustable rear cargo floor, steering wheel audio controls, and remote keyless entry with panic alarm. All sitting atop 16-inch steel wheels. As mentioned before, the 4×4 will add an extra $2,000 onto the $17,995 MSRP, which is a steal in comparison to the Nissan Juke, which starts at $21,075 without 4×4.

Changing Latitudes

Move up one step to the Latitude and you get everything from the Renegade Sport, plus a 5 inch touch screen panel with hands free calling and a rear back up camera, tinted windows, upgraded aluminum wheels, front fog lamps, and a leather wrapped steering wheel. All for $21,295 MSRP. Although the 4×4 will still cost you extra, there is much to be said for the added safety features. We just won’t say it here.

Far from Limited

The Renegade Limited swaps out the 160hp 1.4L MultiAir engine for the 180hp 2.4L Tigershark engine, and the 6-speed manual transmission for the 9-speed automatic. The Limited model also expands from the 16-inch to the 18-inch aluminum wheel, has heated seats, a heated steering wheel, an expanded full color instrument cluster, and remote vehicle start. The Renegade Limited edition starts at $24,795 MSRP.

The Trailhawk

The Renegade Trailhawk is a beast. Standard 4×4, 2.4L Tigershark engine with 9-speed automatic transmission, low 4×4 system with 20:1 crawl ratio, 0.8-inch lift with off-road suspension and hill descent control, 17-inch off-road aluminum wheels with aggressive tires, tow hooks, skid plates, roof rails, plus everything on the Latitude and more. Trail rated with best-in-class 4×4 capability, the Renegade Trailhawk starts at $25,995 MSRP.

Keep in mind that this is just a basic overview of what comes standard on each edition. If you want to know more about the new 2015 Jeep Renegade, be sure to check out our Jeep Renegade web page.
